Longing for luscious lashes without the salon price tag? You're not alone.

DIY lash extensions kits have become a popular choice for beauty enthusiasts. They offer a cost-effective and convenient alternative to professional services.

But with so many options on the market, how do you choose the right one?

This guide will help you navigate the world of at-home lash extensions. We'll cover everything from what to look for in a kit to how to apply them safely and effectively.

Whether you're a seasoned DIYer or a beginner, this guide is for you.

Get ready to achieve salon-quality results from the comfort of your own home.

Understanding OUR DIY Lash Extensions Kits

LeCil DIY lash extension kits are designed to give you salon-like results at home. They offer everything you need in one package.

These kits include a variety of lashes, adhesive, and application tools. Each component plays a crucial role in the process.

Selecting the right kit can be overwhelming with so many on the market. Understanding the essentials can make the choice easier. Here we will talk you through some of the basics then explain the differences between the kits we offer.

Benefits of At-Home Lash Extensions

At-home lash extension kits provide several advantages over salon visits. They offer flexibility and convenience.

Instead of scheduling appointments, you can apply lashes at your own pace. This is ideal for busy individuals.

Additionally, doing it yourself can be more cost-effective in the long run. You can also experiment with different styles.

Key Benefits:

  • Save time by skipping salon appointments
  • Customize lash styles to fit personal preferences
  • Practice and hone application skills
  • Reduce expenses compared to professional services

Moreover, applying extensions at home allows for a comfortable setting. It's stress-free and on your terms.

Cost-Effectiveness of DIY vs. Salon Lash Extensions

The initial purchase of a DIY lash extensions kit may seem costly. However, the long-term savings are significant compared to salon prices.

Salons charge for each visit, while a kit can be used multiple times. This greatly reduces the overall cost of maintaining lash extensions.

Moreover, with practice, you can achieve salon-like results. This not only saves money but also offers a sense of personal satisfaction.

What to Look for in the Best DIY Lash Extensions Kit

Choosing the right diy lash extensions kit can make a big difference. Quality tools and lashes are key for a smooth application experience.

Firstly, check the lashes' material. It should ideally be vegan and hypoallergenic. In some cases (Like LeCil Presse) the material may be biodegradable.

A key characteristic of good DIY lash clusters is the band and the way the individual lash fibers are bonded onto it. Cheaper, lower quality lashes will have a stiff and/or thick band with lashes either heat melted onto it or knotted. All of these characteristics (while sometimes hard to see when looking online) will cause discomfort, higher risk of irritation and infection and natural lash damage. Also, as they dont flex and curve easily, they look clumpy and less natural on the eyes.

LeCil clusters have each individual premium vegan silk lash microfused onto a hair thin, soft and flexible nylon band.

A good lash extension kit includes tweezers and a reliable lash adhesive. These are essential for precise application and lasting results.

When exploring kits, read user reviews and testimonials. They offer insights into real-life experiences and potential pitfalls. Always check the one and two star reviews and look for photos of real people (not hired models/content creators). A reputable company will not delete bad reviews and will only publish real, unpaid reviews from verified customers.

Consider the following when selecting a kit:

  • Hypoallergenic materials
  • Quality lash adhesive
  • Detailed instructions
  • Positive user reviews
  • Variety of lash styles

Lastly, ensure the kit provides aftercare guidance. Proper maintenance is crucial for keeping your extensions in great shape.

Step-by-Step Guide to Applying Your Lash Extensions

Achieving great lash extensions at home requires practice and patience. Begin by gathering your DIY eyelash extensions kit. Ensure you have all the necessary tools and products on hand.

Start by cleaning your natural lashes. Use a gentle cleanser to remove any makeup or oils then thoroughly dry. This step prepares your lashes for better adhesion.

Pre-plan the lash map you want to apply and lay out your lash clusters. If you are not sure we have a lash mapping guide for you.

Carefully apply a super thin layer of LeCil bonding agent along the underside of your lashes. Less is more. MUCH less than mascara. Just tap the bond wand to the underside of your lashes aiming for the bases of your lashes. The key here is precision and patience. Wait a few minutes for the bond to become tacky. Longer than you think. You know it is ready when lash clusters touched to your eye instantly hold strong enough to lift your lid. Watch our video tutorials to better understand this.

Grasp the clusters with your applicators and affix to the underside of your lashes. They should be approx 1mm from your waterline. If you can feel them at all then they are not placed correctly. For a seamless look and increased hold each cluster should overlap the last by at least 1mm.

The seal has to contact all the bond to trigger curing. Carefully apply to your lash bases from the top and the bottom. A good way to do this precisely is to smear the seal on your clean applicators then firmly clamp them at your lash base. Avoid getting the seal on the eyelash tips as it will cause stiffness.

Safety Tips and Precautions for DIY Lash Application

Safety is paramount when applying lash extensions at home. Always perform a patch test before using any new adhesive. This step helps prevent allergic reactions.

Handle tools and products with clean hands. Avoid touching your eyes during the application process. Keeping everything hygienic reduces the risk of eye infections.

Maintaining and Removing Your Lash Extensions

Maintenance ensures that your lash extensions last longer and look great. Gentle handling is key.

The bond takes about 48 hours to cure. This is for DIY safety. During this time the lashes are delicate.

  • avoid getting them wet
  • sleep on your back
  • avoid oil based makeup
  • Avoid touching them

After fully cured. To clean, use a lash-safe cleanser. This removes dirt and oil without damaging the extensions. Keeping your lashes clean prolongs their lifespan.

When it’s time to remove your extensions, don’t pull them off. This can harm your natural lashes. Instead, follow a careful removal process.

Here's a quick checklist to maintain and safely remove your lash extensions:

  • Use oil-free products around eyes
  • Clean lashes as needed with lash cleanser
  • Avoid waterproof mascaras
  • Follow removal instructions precisely

Always prioritize the health of your natural lashes. Proper care and techniques ensure they stay in good condition.

Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

Applying lash extensions at home can be tricky. A common mistake is using too much adhesive, which can clump the lashes and cause failure of bond curing.

Always use the right amount of glue. Practice makes perfect, so start with less, then adjust as needed.

Another frequent error is incorrect lash placement. Poorly placed lashes can feel uncomfortable. Take your time to align the extensions properly for a seamless look.

Don't forget, our lashes can be cleaned and reused, so don't feel pressure to be perfect while you practice!
